If you are unfamiliar with how to apply Miessence mineral makeup here are some tips that may help you.

Techniques:
Always start with clean, dry skin.

Place the bristles of your brush against the holes in the top of the shaker jar and envert the jar, adding minerals to your brush. Revert the jar to its upright position and remove the brush from the holes, tap the brush against a hard surface to nestle the minerals within the brush head. Or tap a small amount of minerals into the jar’s lid and swirl the brush into it, then tap the end of the brush onto the hard surface to embed the minerals.

To apply the minerals, start at the hairline and swirl onto your face in a circular, buffing sweep over your cheekbones and towards the nose. Start with a little and use more as needed, a little goes a long way so don’t go overboard with the mineral right at the start.

Blemishes are a snap to hide, using a shading brush, apply a small amount directly to the area and blend well or use a Miessence concealer and apply with your finger tip and blend in.

If your foundation appears pasty, here are a few possibilities:

• The brush: the wrong brush can really make a difference in mineral makeup. Our brushes are well-made, applying the minerals with a light touch that looks and feels natural.
• Too much product on the brush: Mineral makeup is concentrated color, a little can go a long way so start slowly and work your way to perfect layers, only using it where it is needed.
• The wrong shade: Caught between a pink and a yellow? Minerals make it easy to blend shades to create your perfect skin tone, remember to blend well down your neck!
• Not enough buffing: The minerals look best as they are gently “buffed” into the skin. If you find a spot that’s not behaving, spend a minute to work the minerals onto the skin in a circular motion, spreading out towards your cheekbones and hairline.

Color Families for Miessence Mineral makeup by Narelle Chenery:

Translucent Foundation: The translucent foundation is not complete coverage. The color base of the translucent foundation is warm, warm golden hue, it’s not pinky orangy, it’s a warm yellow based golden color, except for the cool complexion. It allows your natural completion to show through it evens out your skin tone. Zinc oxide provides UV protection, it is a physical blocker. We cannot claim SPF for this because we have not tested and registered it yet.

Concealers: a perfect harmony between warm and cool complexion. They are neutral, they are mix between warm (yellow) and cool (blue). For the Translucent Foundations, the color range is from fair to tanned (almond). There is a larger color gap for the concealers and they are a neutral tone, not a warm tone. The dark in the concealer is actually really dark, the dark in the concealer is for African American, Indian, dark skinned. The concealers contain zinc oxide, use before the foundation. If you want complete opaque coverage, you use the mineral foundation powder over the top. Use different methods of application, with a brush or with a sponge you get better, with a wet sponge you get even better coverage.

Translucent Power: You’re not getting coverage with the translucent powders they are basically just for those who want a matte appearance. The liquid foundations provide a natural sheen you get that dewy completion. If you want a matte complexion you can use the translucent powder, there is oil absorbing cornstarch and mica that gives it an iridescent finish, not a tacky sparkle it’s an iridescence, a luminescence on your skin. A matte coverage and beautiful rose essential oil.

The zinc oxide and mica sericite have a more yellow undertone and the brown iron oxide has a reddish pink undertone.
The darker the shade of the mineral foundation the more brown iron oxide it contains.

Bronzing Dust: gives you the natural sun kissed glow, do not use the sponge, you’ll look like a harlet, you use a brush, a fine brushing of your cheeks, forehead, chin. It has cornstarch to take away the shiny, oily sheen on your face it has cornstarch that’s absorbing and mica for the lovely iridescence sheen, you can apply on your neck and arms and shoulders for evening wear.

Miessence foundation powders: there are two types of mica, sparkly mica, which is the mica in the translucent powder and bronzing dust. There is matte mica, sericite mica, it’s the physical structure of the sheets that reflects or absorbs light, the sericite mica gives you matte appearance better coverage but it reflects the light. Because of the nature of the flakes they are basically like leaves that rub over each other and still allows your skin to breath, perspire and respire and have do all of it’s normal function they do not clog the skin pores at all.

They do offer sun protection. In fact it has the highest level of zinc oxide that can be used in a product, 25%. It has a very high content of zinc oxide it will offer excellent sun protection. Although as I’ve said to get sun protection you need a film/coverage so you have to apply it to the opaque level, not just a brief dusting, it won’t give you sunscreen effect. If you apply it with the sponge you will get sunscreen effect.

You can use it over the foundation for greater coverage or alone. For people with oily skin the mineral foundation powders are brilliant they basically matteify your skin, they give you that opaque appearance and absorb oils as well. All of our dry colors look much lighter in the container because when they react with the oils on your skin they become dark. The colors are deceptive. As a matter of fact all our cosmetic colors look deceptive.

Blush Powders: Basically we have three color families: cool is blue based, this is the Dessert Rose. Apricot due, warm yellow based reds. Ginger blossom is neutral. The minerals are used to reflect the light giving a refined appearance. They don’t sit in the pores they act as a sheet crossing each other and reflect the light. The differene between the dark and the light is the amount of iron oxide pigment and zinc oxide. The more zinc the lighter the product is:Cool Blue Family: Plum is the dark, Grape is the light

They are intense colors they are not sheer, they are highly pigmentized.
It is creamy and nourishing for you lips.
These are great for beauty therapists they apply with a brush. We do not have stick form because we use bees wax and it is too soft, we cannot get hard wax in organic form.
We don’t have the machinery to create the lip stick, shape. I know it is desired and it is in the plan for the future.

Shimmer Creme: jojoba, oil beeswax, mica (sparkly), iron oxide. Natural iron oxides come in black, yellow and red. That is why we don’t have any bright colors. The shimmer cremes are deceptively dark in the container. Organic vanilla extract and organic beeswax.Cool red: berry
